PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film that is excellent in humidity and heat resistance and dimension stability, excellent in mechanical strength, and is suitable for a phase difference film to be bonded to a polarizing plate used in a liquid crystal display.SOLUTION: There is provided a film manufactured from a raw material including a polycarbonate resin as a main component through a biaxial drawing step including a contraction process, and has the following properties of from (1) to (3). Also provided is a polarizing plate manufactured by using the film. (1) Three-dimensional birefringence (Nx, Ny, Nz) is Nx>Ny>Nz. (2) In-plane phase difference (Re) is 30 nm≤Re≤100 nm. (3) Thickness phase difference (Rth) is 100 nm≤Rth≤180 nm.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
