PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process an image captured by using a general lens to generate an image formed by re-focusing any subject of subjects included in the image.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: an imaging optical system (100); an imaging element (107) disposed on a scheduled imaging surface of the imaging optical system and comprising a plurality of pixels, each pixel (30) of which has photograph-electric conversion sections (19a and 19b) having such a shape that a gain in a high frequency area is not decreased regardless of an amount of blurring; a distance/optimum optical transfer characteristic calculation section (202) for analyzing a blurring characteristic for each predetermined region in an image obtained from the imaging element by using an optical transmission characteristic of the imaging optical system, to calculate a distance to a subject for each of the predetermined regions; a blurring restoration section (203) for generating a focused image obtained by focusing on each of the subjects included in the image, on the basis of the image and the distance for each of the predetermined regions; and a re-focused image calculation section for generating an image in a designated blurring state, from the distance for each of the predetermined regions and the focused image. |
