Abstract The method serves for operating a system with foldable elements (1) that is provided with a control unit (9), particularly a foldable sliding wall, that comprises at least 5 two foldable elements (11, ..., 16), that are connected each via connecting shafts (711) to related carriages (5A; 5B; 5C), which are slidably supported in a running rail (2) and of which at least the carriage (5C) connected to the front-sided foldable element (16) is provided with a drive motor (61), the 10 method comprising the step of executing a learning drive, with which the system with foldable elements (1) is transferred from at least a first into a second position and related information is captured.
