PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that includes a holding mechanism, and can suppress the occurrence of shift in position of a document reading unit with respect to an image forming unit caused by a pulling coil spring.SOLUTION: A holding mechanism 4 comprises: a first link member that is connected to an image forming unit 2 at a first connection part on one end and connected to a document reading unit 3 at a second connection part on the other end; a second link member that is connected to the image forming unit 2 at a third connection part on one end and connected to the document reading unit 3 at a fourth connection part on the other end; and a pulling coil spring that connects the first link member and the second link member. The first link member includes a first contact part that is in contact with the second link member in a direction of pulling by the pulling coil spring when the document reading unit 3 is at a closed position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
