PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer comprising a CPU and a memory fault diagnostic device and capable of diagnosing memory faults without reducing the processing speed of the CPU, and a memory fault diagnostic method for the above computer.SOLUTION: The computer comprises: a CPU which executes arithmetic processing; a main-system memory and a sub-system memory which store the same data; a selector which switches the connection destinations of the main-system memory and the sub-system memory; a write data buffer device which temporarily stores write data from the CPU; a memory fault diagnostic device which alternately diagnoses faults of the main-system memory and faults of the sub-system memory; and a memory access control device which controls access to the main-system memory and the sub-system memory. The memory access control device controls selector operation to switch the connection destination of the main-system memory to the CPU and the connection destination of the sub-system memory not connected to the CPU to the write data buffer device or the memory fault diagnostic device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
