<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal fan with reduced operation sound by uniformizing the air velocity distribution in the blade height direction in a fan blowout port; and an air conditioner with reduced operation by applying this centrifugal fan. <P>SOLUTION: This centrifugal fan comprises a hub for fixing a rotary shaft of a motor, a main plate 25 formed on the outer peripheral side of the hub, a shroud 27 oppositely arranged to the main plate 25 and forming a gas flow passage 26, a plurality of blades 28 arranged between the main plate 25 and shroud 27, and a bell-mouth arranged on the suction side of the shroud 27. In this case, when operating the fan, a projection part or a recessed part (for example, a rib-shaped projection part 31) forming an air flow S1 toward the outer periphery from the center of the shroud along a shroud reverse surface 27a, is formed on the shroud reverse surface.
