PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection device and a cap device capable of suppressing liquid discharge failure and reducing liquid discharge frequency from inside a cap by temporarily storing liquid ejected into the cap in the cap without relying upon a liquid absorbing material when discharging the same outside of the cap through a liquid discharge flow channel connected to the cap. SOLUTION: The cap 23 capable of sealing a nozzle forming face 19a has ink reservoir 34 capable of storing the ink ejected from a nozzle 20 into the cap 23, and an ink discharge flow channel 23a for discharging the ink stored in the ink reservoir 34 from inside of the cap 23 to the outside of the cap 23, and in the ink discharge flow channel 23a the uppermost portion in a gravity direction in the ink discharge flow channel 23a is located in an upper side in the gravity direction of the liquid face in the case the ink is stored to an internal volume limit of the ink reservoir 34 in the ink reservoir 34 in the cap 23.
