The invention relates to a reforming system for producing a hydrogen-rich reformate, comprising a reformer (10) to which fuel (12) and oxidizing agen ts (14) can be supplied. The invention is characterized in that the fuel (12 ) supplied to the reformer (10) can be cooled by a fluid (14, 16, 22) to at least some extent, said fluid having functions in the reforming system or in a superordinate system into which the reforming system is integrated in add ition to cooling the fuel. The invention also relates to a method for produc ing a hydrogen-rich reformate and to a fuel cell system comprising the refor ming system according to the invention.
