IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PERFORMING IMAGE FORMING JOB

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which controls the time to perform a job so that an electric power rate may be lower in accordance with power supply that is varied frequently in unit price.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a reference rate acquisition part 22 acquiring information on the unit price of electric power by periodically accessing the server of an electric power company through a LAN 5 and updating the acquired one as a reference rate; an electric power rate calculation part 24 calculating the power rate necessary to perform an image forming job based on the reference rate; and an allowable rate acquisition part 23 acquiring the upper limit value of the electric power rate at which performance of the job can be permitted as an allowable rate. A job performance control part 21 compares the allowable power rate with the power rate necessary to perform the image forming job and decides whether the image forming job is performed or made to stand in readiness.
