PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EGR control device for an internal combustion engine and an EGR control method capable of keeping or improving responsiveness in controlling EGR gas flow rate while performing a stable controlling operation for EGR gas flow rate.SOLUTION: An EGR control device 1 includes a target value setting part 2, an intake restriction valve opening degree calculating part 3, an EGR valve opening degree calculating part 4, a filter processing part 5 and an EGR device driving instruction part 6. The intake restriction valve opening degree calculating part 3 calculates a demand intake restriction valve opening degree. The EGR valve opening degree calculating part 4 calculates an EGR valve opening degree. The filter processing part 5 performs a filtering processing through a filter against the demand intake restriction valve opening degree calculated by the intake restriction valve opening degree calculating part 3 and calculates an indicated intake restriction valve opening degree. During filtering operation, the demand intake restriction valve opening degree is kept or corrected through the filter. The filter is a variable filter and filtering operation is based on a difference between the demand intake restriction valve opening degree and the indicated intake restriction valve opening degree calculated at a previous time filtering operation and on this demand intake restriction valve opening degree.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
