PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method which enables household washing of wool textile goods, silk textile goods and textile goods of delicate fibers such as chemical fibers without damaging hand and feel. SOLUTION: The method for cleaning textile goods comprises the steps of treating textile goods in a treating bath A containing an anionic surface active agent and/or a nonionic surface active agent at a concentration of 0.004-0.05 wt.% and a silicone compound at a concentration of 0.000033-0.0033 wt.%; and subsequently treating the fiber products thus treated in a treating bath B containing a silicone compound at a concentration of 0.00020-0.005 wt.% and a quaternary ammonium compound and/or a tertiary amine compound at a concentration of less than 0.00067-0.01 wt.%.
