METHOD FOR DECODING MAP MESSAGE WHILE PERFORMING HARD HAND OFF BETWEEN MOBILE SWITCHING CENTERS IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for decoding a map message while performing a hard hand off between mobile switching centers(MSCs) in a mobile communication system is provided to decode the map message received from other MSC, so as to prevent a call from being intercepted when a mobile base station is out of a current base station or a service region of a sector, and enters a service region of the other MSC. CONSTITUTION: If an MSC receives map message data transmitted from a target MSC(S11), the MSC classifies operations to decide a whole message length(S12). The MSC initializes a pointer pointing a map parameter, and decodes the map parameter(S13). The MSC confirms whether the map parameter is a map parameter member of a corresponding operation(S14). If so, the MSC confirms whether a tag and length values of the map parameter of the corresponding operation are correct(S15). If so, the MSC decodes the map parameter(S16), and increases the pointer as a determined value to select a map parameter to decode(S17).
