The invention concerns a chamber with vertical axis consisting of a tubular casing externally reinforced with bands (2) arranged at intervals along the casing tubular body. Said chamber is characterised in that each band (2) forms on the outside a polygonal frame (2A) which has internally a curved profile (2B), the cross-section of the band (2) tapering as it moves away from a corner of the frame to form, inside the frame, a continuous curved template whereon are secured in contiguous contact, directly or via a linking part, the walls (1A) of the tubular casing. The invention is applicable to silos and tanks.
