<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily take measures after finding out an incorrectly connected device, by resolving the problem that it takes much time to find out the incorrectly connected device in a LAN, and displaying a connection destination position of the incorrectly connected device in the LAN. <P>SOLUTION: An SNMP trap is used to detect new device connection from a prescribed device in a network and refers to present network configuration information to decide whether a device of which the new connection has been detected is a device allowed to be connected to the network or not. In combination with this detection, incorrect connection may be detected by a ping command. An incorrectly connected device can be instantaneously found out without requiring hardware for exclusive use or packet analysis in the case of the occurrence of incorrect connection in the network.
