An electrode structure (1) for stimulation, cochlea or retinal use is made of precious metal or alloy with a gold, silver, copper or alloy core (2) completely surrounded by Platinum, Iridium or Ruthenium coatings (3). Independent claims are included for manufacturing processes for the electrode using electrodeposition on an insulating substrate.
