<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform smooth interaction adapted to speaker's sensitiveness in a voice interaction apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A response control section 7 outputs response voice according to an utterance content of the speaker which is recognized by a voice recognition section 4 from a voice synthesizing section 2 through a speaker 8. In this case, a pause period to utterance of the response voice and utterance speed are controlled so as to become a state based on the utterance speed of the speaker. When some event occurs that the speaker desires to finish the voice response earlier during an outputting period of the voice response, the utterance speed of the voice response is controlled so as to be continuously higher than the speed before without changing its pitch. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
