PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a whole device, by miniaturizing a carrier belt having a linear scale. SOLUTION: A magnetic layer 101 is applied to a reverse surface of the carrier belt 1, and a scale pattern composed of a magnetic pattern 102 is formed here. Grooves 3a and 4a capable of storing the magnetic layer 101 are formed in a position where a driving roller 3 and a driven roller 4 are opposed to the magnetic layer 101 wound on these rollers. A surface of the carrier belt 1 is flatly maintained, and abrasion by contact with the respective rollers 3 and 4 of a surface layer surface of the magnetic layer 101 is avoided. A magnetic sensor 103 is individually arranged in a position opposed to the magnetic pattern 102 of a platen part 104 and opposed to respective liquid injection heads 11 of respective colors. Printing is performed in the respective injection timings with every injection head 11 of the respective colors, by generating a printing reference signal of expressing the injection timing of liquid in a liquid injection head 11 position of the respective colors.
