<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relatively light roller for a roller bearing satisfying the functional requirements of the bearing relating to structure fatigue of the roller. <P>SOLUTION: The roller 4 includes an outer surface 5 rotated around a symmetrical axis A, and side faces 6 located at both ends of the outer surface. The roller rotates around the symmetrical axis A while receiving loads by the outer surface 5 of the roller in the bearing. The roller includes two cavities 8 formed on the respective side faces 6 and extending along the symmetrical axis A. The cavities have openings 9 formed on the side faces 6, and separated in an axial direction by a material bridge part (material bridge) 10.
