PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new type incense agent that emits good aroma and is healthy for daily life by using wood, especially heartwood of Hinoki (a kind of white cedar). SOLUTION: The heartwood of a tree, particularly Hinoki cypress includes volatile and antimicrobial aroma substances, for example, hinokitiol. Different from conventional aroma substances, only the heartwood part is selectively cut into chips thereby producing a satisfactory level of incense chips. Further, very fine fibers having high strength and optical clarity enough to be invisible outside are used to make a fine mesh and invisible net for filling the incense wood chips without leakage. |
