摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor of excellent insulating property used for a hybrid car or the like by solving the problem of possibility of shorting as a distance becomes shorter between the edge on the end face of a capacitor element and the inside surface of a metal case, if smaller size and larger capacity is pursued. SOLUTION: An annular insulating seat 5 is arranged which abuts a capacitor element 1 from its end face periphery to a part of the peripheral surface continuous from it. Otherwise, an insulation treatment is applied at least on the end face periphery of the capacitor element 1 on a terminal plate 3 side and on the inner peripheral surface of a metal case 2 close to a part of the peripheral surface continuous from it. Since an insulating body is interposed between the peripheral edge of the end face on positive electrode side of the capacitor element 1 and the inside surface of metal case 2, possibility of shorting is eliminated for realizing a capacitor of high reliability.
