PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling apparatus for motors wherein the self circulation of coolant is enabled to reduce the size and weight of a cooling system and the phenomenon of coolant can be prevented in a cooling path being evaporated and vanished. SOLUTION: Coolant stored in a reservoir tank 11 is introduced into the cooling path 12 formed in a motor 1. The coolant turned into vapor phase in the cooling path 12 is turned into liquid phase in a capacitor 13, and it is returned to the reservoir tank 11 by the pressure of the coolant turned into vapor phase in the cooling path 12. The reservoir tank 11 is disposed above the cooling path 12 in the vertical direction. Therefore, the coolant can be caused to self-circulate and the cooling apparatus 10 can be made compact.
