PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of easy visual checking as to whether the state is in optical zoom operation with low magnification, even though recording quality will not deteriorate or the state is in an electronic zoom operation with high magnification, even though the recording quality deteriorates. SOLUTION: A display means is provided with a first display area for visually checking a first zoom magnification, when an optical zoom means is operated; a second display area for visually checking a second zoom magnification, when the optical zoom means and an electronic zoom means are operated; and a magnification visually checking means for making the zoom magnification set move by the optical zoom means or the electronic zoom means along the first and the second display areas and making it visually check.
