A wireless communication terminal having a self diagnosis function and a method thereof are provided to compare a predictive transmission level calculated in consideration of an amplification gain and detection loss of a transmission signal detected from the first power detector with a measurement transmission level detected from the second power detector, thereby detecting whether a transmission end is abnormal as well as exactly detecting an abnormal position(element). The first power of a transmission signal outputted from a transmitter is detected and converted into the first digital signal(301,302). A predictive transmission level is calculated in consideration of an amplification gain and detection loss of the first digital signal(303). The transmission signal is amplified to detect the second power(304). The detected second power of the transmission signal is converted into the second digital signal(305). A measurement transmission level is calculated in consideration of detection loss of the second digital signal(306). The predictive transmission level and the measurement transmission level are compared together to conduct self diagnosis(307).
