A method for setting timing of a module using I2C(Inter-IC) communication is provided to automatically setting the timing of diverse modules in display for a monitor or a TV by using the I2C communication when power is supplied. The power is supplied to an A/V(Audio/Video) board and the module of a display panel. It is checked whether the module previously set in the A/V board is matched with the module. The A/V board requests display setting data of the module by transmitting a packet to the module. The A/V board receives the packet of the setting data from the module. It is checked whether the received packet of the setting data is normal or not. The setting data is stored to a buffer as the timing of the module.
