摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission type pixel shifting mechanism for a projection type image display apparatus capable of simultaneously attaining high image quality and thickness reduction. SOLUTION: The transmission type pixel shifting mechanism includes: an optical glass 1 that transmits an image projected by an optical system; an attracting force exerting part 2 constituted of a ferromagnetic material; a rotating driving part 10 constituted of a support member 3 having the optical glass 1 fixed at one part thereof and the attracting force exerting part 2 fixed at the other part thereof, configured to rotationally drive the optical glass 1 by a prescribed angle; an electromagnet 5 that attracts the attracting force exerting part 2 with the electromagnetic force; a fixed part 20 constituted of an electromagnet driving circuit 6 for controlling the driving timing of the electromagnet 5; and a spring part 7 that connects the rotating driving part 10 and the fixed part 20, and that applies a recover torque to the rotating driving part 10 in accordance with the rotation of the rotating driving part 10. In accordance with the drive timing control of the electromagnet 5, the optical glass 1 is rotationally driven by the rotating driving part 10 so that the image projected and displayed on an image display screen after being transmitted through the optical glass 1 may be shifted by half the pixel between the front half and the second half of one frame.
