TRISAZO COMPOUND, INK COMPOSITION, RECORDING METHOD AND COLORED MATTER

Disclosed is a trisazo compound represented by the formula (1) below or a salt thereof. (1) (In the formula, group A represents a substituted phenyl group; group B and group C respectively represent a substituted paraphenylene group; R1 represents a C1-C4 alkyl group which may be substituted by a carboxyl group, a phenyl group which may be substituted by a sulfo group or a carboxyl group; R2 represents a cyano group, a carbamoyl group or a carboxyl group; and R3 and R4 independently represent a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, a chlorine atom or a sulfo group.) Also disclosed is an aqueous black ink composition containing such a compound. Since the compound is highly soluble in a medium which is mainly composed of water, a high-concentration aqueous solution and ink containing the compound are stable even when they are stored for a long time. The compound enables to provide a black recorded image which is excellent in both light resistance and ozone gas resistance.
