PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a safe floor mat for livestock excellent in air and water permeabilities, antifungal and antimicrobial properties and useful for the prophylaxis of mastitis of cows, or the like, without making the livestock slip with wash water by providing a hard cotton layer having a surface hardness within a specific range and a prescribed value or below of the water permeability. SOLUTION: This floor mat has a hard cotton layer having 60-98 surface hardness measured with an F type hardness tester and antifungal and/or antimicrobial properties and containing 20-60 wt.% of heat bonding fibers and has <=120s water permeability. The mat for livestock is preferably reinforced by holding base fabrics among the plural hard cotton layers and further preferably provided with a mat cover of a woven or a knitted fabric having the antifungal and/or antimicrobial properties.
