PURPOSE: An image processing unit and a display device using the same, and an image processing method are provided to detect an edge area of an input image and control lightness of the detected edge area. CONSTITUTION: A gray scale converting unit(11) calculates an average value of input RGB data. An emboss filter(12) detects an edge area of the gray scale image data. An HSV converting unit(13) converts the RGB data into HSV data. An edge enhancing unit(14) outputs the HSV data in which the edge area is emphasized. An RGB converting unit(15) converts the HSV data into RGB data. |
