POLYETHYLENE COMPOSITION FOR INJECTION MOLDING AND INJECTION MOLDED ITEM THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyethylene composition which is excellent in mechanical properties such as crack resistance and impact strength, has a low solvent- extractable content and a good injection moldability, and can be used as a part coming in direct contact with food; and an injection molded item made thereof. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) 51-99 wt.% ethylene/α-olefin copolymer having a density and melt flow rate each in a specified range and produced by using a metallocene catalyst and (B) 49-1 wt.% high-pressure low- density polyethylene having a density and melt flow rate each in a specified range, has a n-hexane-extractable content of 5 wt.% or lower and a xylene- extractable content of 11 wt.% or lower, and is for injection molding.
