<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix liquid crystal display element whose liquid crystal layer thickness in a pixel part is reduced. SOLUTION: A cross electrode 18 is made of a metal film which is the same as the one used for gate wiring to reduce the film thickness of the cross electrode 18, and the gap between the cross electrode 18 and a cross electrode connection part 23a of a counter electrode is made longer than the inter- substrate gap in the pixel part, and the cross electrode 18 and the cross electrode connection part 23a on the counter electrode 23 are connected by a cross material 27 containing conductive particles 28 to reduce the inter-substrate gap in the pixel part.</p> |
