PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiving apparatus capable of changing the background of an electronic program guide in response to a time of viewing or received data information, exhibiting an atmosphere of a time at which a user views, and enabling the user to know the time band of broadcasting programs. SOLUTION: The electronic program guide using the entire screen has a background for constituting a portion other than a column showing contents of programs, channels and time on the basis of one screen or a plurality of bit maps, and exchanges bit map data 5 having different designs in the background on the basis of a viewing time.
