PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey the leading end of photographic paper of a size for which exposure continues, with chuckers and to hinder scratch, etc. from being caused by curving of photographic paper. SOLUTION: In a conveying device, when photographic paper P for which exposure continues in an exposure unit is fed out from a front roller unit, both edges of the leading end of the photographic paper P is pinched with the pair of chuckers CH, and the photographic paper P is horizontally moved at speed lower than the speed at which the photographic paper P is conveyed in the exposure unit. When the photographic paper P is transferred to the subsequent roller unit U5, the leading end of the photographic paper P brings the lever 55 of the chuckers CH into contact with a guide plate 60, so that a freely rotatable roller 58 is swung downward integrally with the lever 55.
