PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide network equipment such as an access point unit capable of easily and properly controlling whether a wireless terminal is able to access a wired LAN side at need. SOLUTION: A method for controlling the network equipment which connects a wireless communication network and a wired communication network includes a connection availability decision stage of deciding whether a wireless terminal making a request to connect can be connected according to password information for deciding whether the wireless terminal making the request to connect can be connected and a connected terminal decision stage of deciding whether there is a wireless terminal making a connection by using specific password information in the password information. Further, when it is decided in the connected terminal decision stage that there is no wireless terminal making a connection by using the specific password information, a wireless terminal which connects with the network equipment by using password information other than the specific password information is inhibited from accessing the wired communication network side.
