PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-transformer type DC-DC converter of which the size and weight can be reduced, the number of switching elements can be reduced, which further has an excellent efficiency and a small input current ripple component, and in which the capacity of an input side smoothing capacitor can be reduced. SOLUTION: The two-transformer type DC-DC converter includes an AC/DC converter circuit 11 as an inverter disposed between an input DC power source 2 and transformers T1, T2 and a AC/DC converter circuit 21 as a rectifier circuit disposed between the transformers T1, T2 and a load 3. The AC/DC converter circuit 11 includes primary coils W2, W5 connected in series with each other, and a capacitor C1 connected in series with a parallelly connected main switch Q1 and a clamp circuit so that a voltage is supplied from the input DC power source 2 through the primary coils W1, W4 connected in series with each other. The transformer T1 has the primary coils W1, W2 and a secondary coil W3, the transformer T2 has primary coils W4, W5 and a secondary coil W6, and outputs of the secondary coils W3, W6 are rectified by a AC/DC converter circuit 21 of a synchronous rectifier circuit, and output to the load 3. The clamp circuit is connected in series with a subswitch Q2 and a capacitor C2. Thus, an input current ripple rate can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
