PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high output stepping motor at a lower cost without spoiling upsizing. SOLUTION: The stepping motor comprises a magnet ring 1 of a cylindrical permanent magnet divided equally in the circumferential direction and magnetized alternately with different poles, first and second cylindrical coils 2 and 3 arranged concentrically to the magnet ring at positions for holding the magnet ring between in the axial direction, and first outer pole parts 8A and 8B facing the outer circumferential surface from one end face of the magnet ring and being excited by the first coil. The stepping motor further comprises second outer pole parts 9A and 9B facing the outer circumferential surface from the other end face of the magnet ring and being excited by the second coil 3, and a rotary shaft provided with inner pole parts 10A and 10B made of a soft magnetic material, secured to the inside diameter section of the magnet ring, facing at least the first or second outer pole part within an axial range and being excited by the first or second coil.
