PURPOSE: A mother substrate of an electrophoretic display device and a method for manufacturing the electrophoretic display device using the same are provided to reduce the size of an area of a mother substrate that test pads occupy, thereby reducing material costs. CONSTITUTION: Unit cells(3) have electrophoretic films. The unit cells are formed on a base substrate(2) in a matrix. A plurality of test pads test the unit cells. A plurality of test pad units(5) are formed on one side of the base substrate. A plurality of connection lines are formed on the base substrate. The test pad units are electrically connected each other by the connection lines.
