<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly adjust a printing position in a printer which prints by a printing setting being different from a printing setting included in printing data. <P>SOLUTION: This printer performs printing based on the printing data including the designation of a printing position which is recorded on a portable recording medium. This printer is equipped with a setting accepting means which accepts the indication for a first or second special one-sided printing, and a printing performing means. In this case, the printing performing means performs one-sided printing by using a printing position which is applied to the surface being designated by the printing data regardless of the presence/absence of the indication for double-sided printing in the printing data when the first special one-sided printing is indicated. The printing performing means performs one-sided printing by using a printing position which is applied to the surface being accepted by the setting accepting means regardless of the presence/absence of the indication for double-sided printing in the printing data or the setting of the printing position designated by the printing data when a second special one-sided printing is indicated.
