PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem with a multiple air conditioner and the like having a plurality of indoor units in which, as a liquid receiving portion cannot be received in a machine chamber and is disposed in an air distribution passage though the amount of refrigerant is increased accompanying the increase of performance and capacity, and a size of the liquid receiving portion is increased, which causes increase of abnormal sound and noise, and makes a complicated constitution unavoidable. SOLUTION: As the liquid receiving portion 17 is disposed in a space S of a heat exchanger 3 formed onto the L-shape facing to a left side face 1a and a back face 1b of an outdoor unit body 1, having the space S at a prescribed interval, and vertically divided into two upper and lower two stages approximately uniformly, and refrigerating cycle components such as a compressor 8 are connected by connection piping 9 at a part projecting to the machine chamber 10, the liquid receiving portion does not exist in the space between the heat exchanger 3 and a fan 14 of the air distribution passage 13 as a resistive element, and it becomes unnecessary to dispose the connection piping 9 to the liquid receiving portion 17 through a partitioning plate 7, thus noise and ventilation resistance can be reduced, the heat exchanger can be effectively utilized, the connection piping can be remarkably shortened, and the simple outdoor unit of the air conditioner of high cost performance can be provided.
