PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffusion plate assembly capable of providing light diffusion and heat blocking functions and of preventing sagging of the diffusion plate; and a backlight assembly including the diffusion plate assembly.

SOLUTION: This diffusion plate assembly is characterized by including: a first plate diffusing light; a second plate disposed to face one surface of the first plate and blocking heat transfer toward the first plate; and a plurality of spacer materials interposed between the first plate and the second plate and separating the first plate from the second plate.
