<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an image display device 10 allowing understanding of how to be changed before change of a border is reflected. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device comprises: a synthesizer 58 for synthesizing display areas for displaying a plurality of images in one screen; a menu display unit 28 for apposing and displaying a plurality of selection items for selecting the change of at least one item out of the number of the display areas, shapes, a magnitude relation, a positional relation, or the kind of the image, and displaying a menu for changing into a correspondent screen configuration by allowing the user to select the item; an icon display unit 26 for corresponding icons indicating the border of the display areas to the selection items to display the icons; and a border change 38 for reflecting the positional change of the border to the display area.
