<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high strength extra-fine steel wire having ≥4000 MPa tensile strength and excellent balance of the strength-ductility. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing the high strength extra-fine steel wire is as the followings. A patenting treatment is applied to a steel material composed by mass% of 0.7-1.1% C, 0.05-2.0% Si, 0.2-2.0% Mn and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and a wire-drawing containing a skin-pass process as the last-finishing is applied to make the high strength extra-fine steel wire composed of fine pearlite structure having ≥4000 MPa tensile strength. Thereafter, further, an aging treatment is applied at 130-300°C aging temperature T and for aging treatment time t so that diffusion length L of carbon atoms becomes in the range of 400-2000 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
