PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical instrument such as an endoscope instrument or a laparoscope instrument including a shaft having a proximal end part and a distal end part.

SOLUTION: This shaft includes a first sensor element. An end effector is joined to the distal end part of the shaft. The end effector includes a second sensor element. A handle is connected to the proximal end part of the shaft. This handle includes a control unit. The control unit communicates with the first sensor element, and the first sensor element communicates with the second sensor element by radio transmission.
