A medical device (1), in particular an infusion device (1), comprises a first part (10), a second part (11) which is pivotable about a pivoting axis (D) with respect to the second part (10), and an evaluation device (14) for evaluating sensor signals. In addition the medical device (1) comprises a first acceleration sensor (13) arranged on the second part (11) and constituted to sense an acceleration (g) acting at the location of the first acceleration sensor (13) and to provide sensor signals indicative of a sensed acceleration (g), wherein the evaluation device (14) is constituted to determine, from the sensor signals provided by the first acceleration sensor (13), a pivoting position of the second part (11) relative to the first part (10). In this way a medical device is provided which allows in an easy and cost-efficient manner to reliably determine the pivoting position of a first part and a second part of the medical device with respect to each other. |
