1. A system for storing and retrieving tags, comprising: a server configured to perform operations comprising:
determining a quantitative weighting factor for each tag; determining a reputation weighting factor for each tag; determining a context weighing factor for each tag; determining an expiry weighting factor for each tag; determining an overall weighting factor for each tag by calculating an average of the weighting factors; and visually reflecting the relevance of each tag in the tag cloud based on the overall weighting factor, wherein the server is further configured to perform operations comprising: receiving a portal page including a tag widget allowing to tag a certain item; allowing the user to specify tags to be applied to the item to be tagged; before storing the tag calculating the user's reputation to associate a weighting to the tag being applied; storing the tag together with the user reputation-based weighting.
