The present invention relates to the technical field of display substrates. Provided are a display substrate and manufacturing method thereof, capable of addressing a problem in which a pixel electrode in an existing array substrate is prone to having a fracture at an edge of a drain electrode. The display substrate comprises a first structure (41) and a second structure (5). The second structure (5) has an overlap joint portion (51) provided on the first structure (41), and a body portion (52) located outside of the first structure (41) and connected to the overlap joint portion (51). The first structure (41) has a thinning region (411) connected to an edge thereof. A thickness of the first structure located in the thinning region (411) is less than a thickness of the first structure located outside of the thinning region (411). The overlap joint portion (51) is at least partially located in the thinning region (411). At least a part of the body portion (52) located outside of the thinning region (411) is directly connected to the overlap joint portion (51) located in the thinning region. |
