PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a homogenous disc brake pad, and the disc brake pad manufactured by the method, having small difference in density between a chamfer portion of a friction material and another part, in the manufacturing method of the disc brake pad forming the chamfer of the friction material of the disc brake pad by compression molding.SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing chamfer of a disc brake pad having the chamfered shape on an end portion of the friction material, by thermal pressure molding, a material M of the friction material is charged into a cavity formed by a die 1 and a female mold 2 in a bulky state before thermal pressure molding of the material of the disc brake pad, and the material corresponding to a volume of a cutout formed by chamfering is allowed to flow to the center in advance, and then thermally pressed and molded into the prescribed shape.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
