PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for the treatment of neurological diseases including Alzheimer's disease and stroke.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to methods of activating an isoform of protein kinase C (PKC) using a derivative of a cis-polyunsaturated fatty acid in which at least one unsaturated double bond is cyclopropanated or epoxidized.
