摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation film that can be thinned and can be used for wide-band wavelengths because of having reverse wavelength dispersion property, and a manufacturing method for the same.SOLUTION: A wide-band retardation film 10 is formed by directly stacking a first optically anisotropic layer 1 comprising a birefringence inducing material and a second optically anisotropic layer 2 comprising a polymerizable liquid crystal without an adhesive layer interposed between the layers. In the retardation film, when retardations to lights with wavelengths of 450 nm, 550 nm, and 650 nm are Re450, Re550, and Re650, the first optically anisotropic layer has smaller Re450/Re550 values, larger Re650/Re550 values, and smaller Re550 value than the second optically anisotropic layer, and the slow axis direction of the first optically anisotropic layer and the slow axis direction of the second optically anisotropic layer intersect at a predetermined angle. The retardation film is produced by a method including emitting of a first polarized light after formation of the birefringence inducing material on a base material and emitting of a second polarized light after stacking of a polymerizable liquid crystal layer thereon.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
