PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an α-olefin low polymer, at the operation stopping step of which, precipitation of a high-concentration polymer melted in a solvent is suppressed and even when the high-concentration polymer is precipitated, an apparatus is restrained from being clogged with the high-concentration polymer.SOLUTION: The method for producing the α-olefin low polymer comprises; a production operation step of feeding the α-olefin being a raw material to a reactor so that a low polymerization reaction is performed on the α-olefin in the presence of a catalyst and the solvent and feeding a reaction product, which contains the α-olefin low polymer being an objective product, to a distillation column as a feed liquid to purify the reaction product; and the operation stopping step of stopping a feed of the catalyst to the reactor and circulating the solvent between the reactor and the distillation column as another feed liquid. A feed position of the feed liquid to the distillation column at the operation stopping step is made lower than that of the feed liquid to the distillation column at the production operation step.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
