The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing absorptive articles (1). The method according to the present invention comprises a contour inspection step of inspecting the contour of individual absorptive articles (11) which are being conveyed consecutively in the longitudinal direction (LD) thereof along a convey path (TM) by photographing the absorptive articles by a single camera (23) under illumination by a plurality of illumination devices (25). The contour inspection step comprises: at least a camera positioning step of positioning the single camera above the convey path at a distance that enables the camera to photograph the entire length of the lateral direction (SD) of the individual absorptive articles; a illumination device positioning step of positioning the plurality of illumination devices such that the illumination devices are located upstream and downstream of the single camera in the direction of conveying the absorptive articles; a photographing step of photographing the individual absorptive articles by the single camera and obtaining overall images of the absorptive articles; and a contour determination step of determining, on the basis of the images obtained in the photographing step, whether the contour of the individual absorptive articles is acceptable or not. |
